The Cortland Area Flute Ensemble (CAFE) would like to invite the public to their annual holiday concert, "An Evening of Holiday Favorites for Flute", on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at 7pm. This concert is free! The performance will be held at Christ Community Church at 292 Tompkins Street (next door to Uncle Louie’s Restaurant) in Cortland.
Come on over, kick back and relax. Take a break from the crazy holiday season and enjoy some beautiful holiday music, including "Let it Snow", "Carol of the Bells" and many other favorites. The members are very excited to showcase the repertoire they have prepared in their fall rehearsals and are looking forward to the chance to share it with the community.
Composed of a wide variety of members, CAFE has been performing for the public for five years. From community members to students from SUNY Cortland as well as local high school students, the group is composed of people who love to play and play what they love. From the piccolo to the bass flute, the flutes are as diverse as the musicians. If you play flute and would like to play for a fun group like CAFE, contact the director for more information. Even if you haven’t played in years, we are always looking for more flute friends to join our ensemble.
Donations will be accepted for the Cortland County Toys for Tots as well as the Cortland Loaves and Fishes. Please help us spread the holiday cheer this season and bring an unopened and unwrapped new toy or a canned good or non-perishable food item for these local charities.
